ABOUT
Alyssa Burns is a composer who specializes in writing and producing custom music for film and media.
Alyssa initiated her composing career as a classical concert composer before switching to film scoring, where she utilizes her advanced music theory knowledge towards developing detailed custom music that enhances the narrative. She is adept at writing for solo piano all the way to full orchestra and her instrumental background is in piano and cello. Alyssa was mentored under Hollywood film composer Anne-Kathrin Dern through the Hollywood Music Workshop Film Scoring Summer Academy. She currently plays within the cello section in the Albion College Symphony Orchestra as a community member.
She is recently known for scoring All the Kingdoms of the World (Short), For Mother's Day (Short), Mending (Short), Imaginary (Short), True North (Short), The Photographer (Short), The Music of Erich Zann (Short), The Madness of Christmas (Short), Never Alone (short), Welcome to Eden (TV Pilot), Hearts at War (feature length full-cast audiobook), and the concept scene for 9 Days a Soldier (Feature).
Alyssa's opening cue for Hearts at War caught the attention of film composer Christophe Beck (Frozen, WandaVision), music supervisor Julia Michels (Star is Born, Pitch Perfect) during SESAC's The Beck Diversity Project 22-second review challenge.
